The theremin is enjoying growing popularity, and Berlin-based
Barbara Buchholz is one of the world’s top virtuosos of this instrument: the magic kit that came to us from Russia at the beginning of the previous century. It is the only instrument that is played without being touched and the grandfather of all electronic instruments.
Barbara Buchholz has retrieved the theremin from oblivion and is finding new uses and applications for it in contemporary music. Known internationally for her mastery of the instrument, she is in international demand as a performer and teacher.

Workshop for Beginners
“First steps with the theremin”. For musicians without any experience of the theremin. To play the theremin is like singing with your “inner voice“. Anyone who loves singing already has the prerequisites.
Barbara Buchholz will explain how the theremin works, and she will show first exercises how to play the instrument.

A theremin will be supplied on site. We would also appreciate if you want to bring your own instrument. Please contact us to know if we should care for more amplifiers.
